The bachelor's degree programme in “Biotechnology & Food Engineering” at the MCI is an interdisciplinary combination of biosciences, chemistry and process engineering and deals with both biotechnological and food engineering methods. These can be used in the development and manufacture of products for health, food and environmental protection. The students will learn to understand, revise and optimise processes in biotechnology and food technology from the genetic basis to the final product. With its focus on process engineering the programme enables students to convert bioscientific laboratory findings into full-scale industrial processes.
