Diploma programme Choral Conducting

Content and focus of the degree programme:

This study programme is only available in German.

The conducting profession is one of the most exposed, complex and challenging activities in today's art world: “With the orchestra/choir in front of you, the audience behind you and the composer behind you”, the aim is to bring music to life in a way that is equally committed to the work, meets the needs of the ensembles involved and is also geared towards the realities of the music business. Conducting usually takes place on three levels: repertoire development (preparation), repertoire communication (rehearsal work) and repertoire presentation (performance). This means that conductors must be capable of comprehensively acquiring a work in all its facets and developing their own, consolidated creative vision.
