Master’s programme Mountain Forestry (E)

Content and focus of the degree programme:

This master’s programme imparts qualifications in international forestry with a focus on developing countries. Special emphasis is put on imparting specific knowledge and skills regarding sustainable use of mountain forests. These ecosystems can have quite different characters depending on their topographic and climatic situation and also on the social environment and can pose very different and complex problems. To enable students to examine the challenges of this area (e.g. resources management, nature protection, participatory mountain forestry management) in a holistic way specialist knowledge and selected methods from technology, socio-economics, ecology and other relevant disciplines are included in the teaching. The medium of instruction is English.
