The bachelor's degree course in Engineering is an interdisciplinary joint study course offered by the University of Salzburg together with the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Thus, it combines the disciplines of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences and takes a closer look at the ties between skills in the fields of physics, chemistry, materials sciences and mechanical engineering. The aim of this degree course is to train outstanding engineers who are skilled in scientific reasoning and who will be able to link research and development with production in various areas of the industry. Graduates will have profound knowledge of methods in several disciplines and be able to work in an interdisciplinary way. This constitutes the basis for continuing their education in master's programmes such as Mechanical Engineering at TUM and Chemistry and Physics of Materials at PLUS. On the job the graduates will be able to utilise their comprehensive scientific skills to solve practical problems.
