The aim of the master's programme in Turkish Studies is to enable students to independently deal with historical and current social and cultural problems, developments and phenomena in the Ottoman Empire and Türkiye using primary sources. In addition to in-depth knowledge of the past and present, the cultures, societies, religions and politics of the Ottoman Empire and Türkiye, as well as the Turkic-speaking cultural area, the master’s degree in Turkology conveys knowledge of science, theory and methodology.
