Content and focus of the degree programme:

The master's programme in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Vienna will provide its students with advanced knowledge and research skills in English linguistics, in particular in one of the alternative specialisations of historical linguistics, functional and cognitive linguistics or applied linguistics. Therefore the master’s programme strives to equip the students with the necessary skills to develop and implement questions, concepts and methods for research projects and adequately present them in English. Since English is the language of instruction in this master’s programme the students will learn to deal with complex issues in English.
