Students of the PhD in Practice programme will acquire the qualifications to work in an epistemologically critical and methodologically reflexive manner in the intertwined fields of contemporary art, culture and research. By enabling the students to develop their artistic and scientific interests and skills in a multidimensional, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research environment with international networking the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna responds with this postgraduate programme to the challenge that research at art universities has been given a prominent status for some years now and that new educational and activity profiles are emerging.
