The degree programme imparts an understanding of the causative molecular and cellular mechanisms and it involves the use and development of model organisms to understand the progression of complex biological interactions. The aim is to train students both in diagnosis, research of diseases, development of new active ingredients, management of diseases and in the use of innovative therapies. The medium of instruction is English.
The interdisciplinary master’s programme in Comparative Biomedicine – Infection Biomedicine and Tumour Signalling Pathways focuses on infections and tumours, which are big challenges for our health system, not least under the aspect of the imminent consequences of demographic change.
In addition to the required compulsory courses and elective courses students have to do an eight-week compulsory internship and a two-week technology training. Moreover, the students have to write a master’s thesis.
