Master’s programme Evolutionary Genomics and Systems Biology

Content and focus of the degree programme:

The aim of the English-taught master’s programme in Evolutionary Systems Biology at the University of Vienna and the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna is to train graduates who, as scientists, will be able to work on current research questions in the field of evolutionary systems biology using contemporary methods. Furthermore, they will be able to adequately represent the discipline in basic research as well as in applied areas. The focus of the degree programme is on the combination of the three subdisciplines of “Population Genetics", "Quantitative Biology and Systems Biology" and "Evolutionary Developmental Biology (EvoDevo) and Molecular Evolution". The degree programme promotes interdisciplinary cross-linking of biological disciplines with quantitative fields of education such as mathematics, statistics and computer sciences.
