Master programme Biological Chemistry JMP (E)

Content and focus of the degree programme:

The master’s programme in Biological Chemistry consolidates the basic knowledge in the fields of bioanalytical chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, genetics, biophysics and structural biology. Students will acquire complementary knowledge in chemistry and biology. They learn to trace back complex biological structures and processes to their molecular and chemical basics and to modify them systematically. Moreover specific knowledge in bioanalytical and preparative methods is taught and knowledge about safety standards is gained. Students will gain problem resolution skills for chemical and biological problems. The degree programme focuses on the acquisition of qualifications in biomedicine, phytochemistry and –biotechnology, biological procedures of chemical production as well as bio- and environmental analytics. Students are prepared for the requirements of sustainable production and green technologies. The medium of instruction is English.
