Master’s programme Mathematics

Content and focus of the degree programme:

This study programme is only available in German.

The predominant aim of the master's course in Mathematics is for students to acquire the ability to selectively gather information about a given problem, to discuss it critically and analytically, to acquire the required knowledge autonomously, and to use this knowledge constructively to solve the problem. The master's course in Mathematics promotes the students’ understanding of scientific questions and problems as well as skills and techniques used in mathematics, logical consistency of thinking, and precise linguistic expression. Graduates will be able to apply and adapt mathematical methods independently, to recognise and examine mathematical structures autonomously, and to open up new fields of knowledge (also beyond mathematics) independently.
