The doctoral program of WU is a demanding program of high quality, which develops the students' ability to do independent research and meet the challenges of an academic career. In the course of the program, students undertake theoretical or practical social and/or economic research. They are familiarised with philosophy of science, theories of the field/paradigms, data resources, methods of research, inquiry and evaluation as well as publication strategies, and receive a research orientated education.
