Definition of the field of studies

The programme in Business Administration provides an academically based professional training with a focus on practical application, a specialisation in business administration issues and a consolidation of the knowledge in those other academic subjects that constitute an intelligent supplement to business administration. Two branches of study are offered: - Business Administration - International Business Administration

The bachelor's programme in Business Administration consists of an introductory stage, compulsory subjects and restricted elective subjects to be chosen from a list. In the introductory stage the students will acquire an overview of the basics of the business administration subjects and an introduction to the methodology of academic working. This forms the basis for the compulsory subjects in business accounting, general business administration theory, economics, law, information technology and English for business. The 1st qualifying examination is on the basic principles of information technology. In the restricted elective courses students have to select two business administration specialisations from different fields. The two fields selected are each pursued in a seminar including a bachelor's thesis and conclude with the 2nd and 3rd qualifying examinations. In addition, students will consolidate their knowledge in economics or law in the restricted elective subjects and will gain basic knowledge in fields that are supplementary to business administration.
