The subject of English, which is part of the teacher training programme at the University of Vienna, aims at preparing students for a career as English as a foreign language teachers at secondary schools through an occupation-oriented and research-based education. The degree programme focuses on language skills, subject-specific didactics, linguistics, cultural studies and literature studies.
