Content and focus of the degree programme:

The bachelor’s degree programme in Teaching French trains students to become French teachers for all types of schools at secondary level. The study programme imparts comprehensive skills in the target language and the culture of the countries of the target language. The focus is on the students’ own foreign language skills, the ability to reflect on the history and present of the foreign language and to analyse and classify the historical and current diversity of cultural, literary and media forms of expression of the language studied. On the basis of these linguistic and subject-specific skills the students will acquire the ability to teach the foreign language studied in a target group-oriented manner and according to the latest findings of subject didactics in a school context.
