The degree programme imparts comprehensive skills in the target language and the culture of the countries where this language is spoken. The focus is on the student's own foreign language skills, the ability to reflect on the historical development and current functioning of the foreign language (as a historical individual language) and to analyse and classify the historical and current diversity of cultural, literary and media forms of expression of the language studied. On the basis of these linguistic and subject-specific skills the students will gain the ability to teach the foreign language studied in a target group-oriented manner at schools.
